Part of what we hope to do at Genesis Taiji is to develop a format for sharing information and experiences, as they relate to us all, in regards to our physical, emotional and spiritual health quests.
We read a lot and will post interesting information and results of studies that we think may at least be thought provoking. We invite you to do the same. There is so much information out there that it is very difficult to know what to go with.

The idea then becomes finding as much information as you can about new studies and recommendations, so that you can make an informed decision for yourself.

The Super Spice

It comes from the Curcuma longa plant native to Indonesia and southern India. It has a warm and peppery flavor and used as an ingredient in curry dishes and also yellow mustard. The spice is tumeric and, with it’s active ingredient curcumin is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin has been shown to influence more than 300 genes and in addition, has been shown to inhibit enzymes implicated in the inflammation process. Some other claims for this spice follow; We will let you look further.

-Cancer fighting properties
-May help to increase detoxification enzymes in your liver
-Prevent oxidation of cholesterol—Maybe good for your heart
-Curcumin has been shown to slow the progression of Alzheimers in mice
-Rich in Vitamin B6

The best suggestions of getting some Tumeric herb or “curcumin” in your diet is to purchase the pure powder and use it in place of curry powder. Some do not like curry and so there are some good “standardized” extracts available if you shop a little.
